United States second-quarter growth revised to 3 percent in momentum boost


A key measure of inflation, the GDP's PCE price index, slowed in the second quarter, to a 1.6 percent annual rate from 2 percent in the first quarter. GDP has averaged annual growth rates of just 2.2 percent in this recovery, which is now the third longest in US history.
