Good news for sky watchers and selenophiles, the next full moon is set to be the biggest and brightest of the year, according to NASA. the "super snow moon" as it is being called, will cross the skies next Tuesday on february 19.
Cox, who is affiliated with the Slooh robotic telescope based at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, will be part of a panel hosting a live show on the February supermoon.
Native Americans and Europeans gave February the "snow moon" title because it was the month associated with heavy snowfall, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.
If that isn't enough, the subsequent full moon in March will also be a "supermoon", rounding off 2019 with a total of three "supermoons". The Supermoon trilogy began with the spectacular Super Blood Moon eclipse on January 21 this year.

It is the second supermoon of the year and will be the biggest and brightest. It's about 356,800km (221,700 miles) away.
This month, the moon will be closest to Earth at 4:07 a.m. EST Feb. 19.
You should be able to see it best once it rises at 5.11pm that evening, so here's hoping for clear skies. The event will officially occur in the morning, but when the moon crosses the night sky - it will be brighter than it will at any point of the year, or even until 2026, according to Forbes.
Given the moon orbits the Earth about once every 28 days, there is usually 12 full moons a year (sometimes 13), and there is always one or two that happen to be at the closest point to the Earth in its orbit.

The moon will appear even bigger at the horizon, but don't be fooled by the optical illusion.
Although this moon is closer to earth than the last, it will not be as colorful as the "Super Blood Wolf Moon" eclipse that wowed the skies in January.
