Cardiff City have been left stunned after Nantes demanded payment for the £15million transfer of Emiliano Sala, who is missing and feared dead, after his flight went off-radar on a journey from France to Cardiff.
They then followed up that message five days later with a more direct demand that referenced possible legal action.
Sala and pilot David Ibbotson were onboard a private aircraft, the wreckage of which was discovered on Sunday evening underwater in the English Channel.
Clippers Trade Tobias Harris to Sixers
Center Boban Marjanovic and forward Mike Scott were shipped to the Sixers. The Clippers re-stocked the roster with pieces for the future.
Emiliano Sala's former club Nantes were over joyous when they scored in the ninth minute against Toulouse in another emotional tribute to the player.
And BBC Wales are reporting the Ligue 1 club are demanding the payment for the 28-year-old Argentine forward after the first scheduled instalment was withheld.
Cardiff will honor the deal but have been reluctant to make a payment until they know "all the facts".
Eagles Expected To Pick Up Nick Foles' $20 Million Option
The 29-year-old has the option to "buy back" his free agency from the Eagles for $2 million, which Rapaport says is "likely". Eagles head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Howie Roseman both backed Wentz last month as the team's starter.
French club Bourdeaux will receive around 50 per cent of the fee as Sala played for the club between 2012-15 before joining Nantes.
Nantes emailed Cardiff last Thursday in relation to the payment terms and the Welsh club's failure to transfer the first of three instalments.
Cardiff were reportedly shocked by the timing of the letter from Nantes, as recovery workers are now in the process of trying to excavate the body of someone from the crash plane he was in.
Ty Law Elected To Hall Of Fame Ahead Of Super Bowl
To be eligible for enshrinement, modern-era players and coaches must have last played or coached more than five seasons ago. Law now becomes the first Patriots player from the early years of the Belichick-Brady dynasty to earn a bust in Canton.
A spokesman for the Air Accident Investigations Branch (AAIB) said: "The AAIB is now considering the next steps, in consultation with the families of the pilot and passenger, and the police".
