A woman has been rescued from an elevated in NY after she was trapped for three days.

An FDNY spokesperson confirmed that they received a call around 10:10 a.m. Monday about a person who had been trapped inside an elevator in a private one-family townhouse on East 65th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue.

They were "relieved and thankful that Fortaliza was doing well" at a NY hospital, where she was being treated for dehydration.

A New York City Department of Buildings inspector went to the property on Monday after learning that someone had been trapped in an elevator, but was denied access to the building, Abigail Kunitz, a spokeswoman for the agency, said in an email. Firefighters freed the housekeeping employee after forcing entry into the elevator. Stephens Inc. spokesman Frank Thomas told Arkansas Business that neither Warren nor Harriett Stephens discovered the trapped woman.
