05 January 2019

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James paced all players with 1,083,363 votes in the first 2019 NBA All-Star Game voting update that was released Thursday morning.

Steven Adams has emerged as a contender to make his first appearance in the NBA All-Star game after the first round of fans votes were revealed.

According to totals released by the league Thursday, James is the first player to get more than 1 million votes (1,083,363) for the February 17 showcase at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. Winning Numbers Drawn For $425 Million Mega Millions Jackpot
One lucky victor will start the new year $425 million richer after matching all six numbers in Tuesday's Mega Millions. Assuming the jackpot victor or winners take the one-time lump-sum cash option - the payment will be $254.6 million.

The format for drafting teams from last season remains in place.

Every voter submits a ballot with two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference to determine the starters. A playground-style draft in which the two captains pick their side will be televised this year. LeBron and Curry were team captains in 2018. Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins - who hasn't played an National Basketball Association game in almost 12 months due to a ruptured left Achilles tendon - is 10th among Western Conference frontcourt players.

Other totals of note: Vince Carter, 41, is seventh among Eastern Conference frontcourt players, while Atlanta Hawks teammate Jeremy Lin - a reserve guard - is eighth among backcourt players in the conference.

Voting will conclude on Monday, Jan. 21 at 8:59pm PT. The reserves, as selected by the head coaches, will be announced January 31 on TNT.

Just like a year ago, the leading vote-getter from each conference will serve as a captain and will draft their rosters from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.

Details for the All-Star draft have yet to be announced.
