Bottrop, Germany attack: Man drives Mercedes into foreigners

The victims have not been named but are believed to include Syrians and Afghans.

A 46-year-old Syrian woman who suffered life-threatening injuries is recovering in hospital after an emergency operation, police said.

He made "remarks hostile to foreigners" while being arrested by police, officials said. Police fatally shot the 48-year-old man, who they said was mentally ill and had wanted to commit suicide.
