Ivanka Trump: Email controversy bears ‘no equivalency’ to Hillary Clinton’s

30 November 2018

Mrs Clinton was repeatedly attacked by Mr Trump over her use of a private email server during that campaign, with his supporters chanting "lock her up" at rallies.

Ivanka Trump defended her use of a private email account while working in her father's White House previous year and dismissed comparisons between her situation and that of Hillary Clinton during a television interview broadcast Wednesday.

But on Tuesday night, Ivanka appeared on ABC News and defended herself, asserting that there's "no equivalency" between her private emails and Clinton's server scandal.

In an interview with ABC she defended the usage, saying that she wasn't sending important work emails.

"There is no restriction of using personal email", she said.

He added that Ivanka "wasn't doing anything to hide her emails". "The fact is that we all have private emails and personal emails to coordinate with our family".

Clinton deleted thousands of emails that she and her lawyers decided were personal or unrelated to her work as secretary of state before she turned over thousands of other emails to federal investigators.

The Clinton camp has claimed Comey's decision in October 2016 to announce he was re-opening the investigation, after emails were found on disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner's laptop, was a factor in Clinton's defeat. "Why does Ivanka Trump's voice sound like she smoked a pack or two of cigarettes every day?" asked one Twitter user.

According to emails released by a nonpartisan watchdog group, American Oversight, Trump used her personal account to email Cabinet officials, White House aides and assistants. They're all stored on the White House system.

Some are even wondering if she's coming down with a serious vocal cord condition - like Robert Kennedy Jr., who suffers from spasmodic dysphonia (SD). "I think it's been a long time that this has been ongoing, but I want it to be done in a way in which nobody could question that it was hurried or rushed".

"Your father hammered Hillary Clinton on this, said that it was criminal, she should be locked up", Roberts said.

Roberts asked later in the interview. "I know the facts as they relate to me and my family, and so I have nothing to be concerned about".

'I think it should reach its conclusion, ' she said. "And seeing children put at risk - running towards the border - is heartbreaking".

Clinton says she never knowingly emailed classified information.

After a White House report that warned of extreme effects of climate change, Trump has remained opposed to the findings.
