Her win goes into records, making her the second Muslim woman ever elected to the US Congress. Multiple outlets have called the race.

Ilhan Omar won the U.S. House race in the 5th Congressional District.

She won the Democrat primary for the seat in August with around a third of the total vote share.

The 42-year-old Tlaib is a Palestinian-American.
