Lauren McCluskey, a 21-year-old track athlete and University of Utah student, was abducted from outside her Salt Lake City dorm on Monday night, and was found dead a short time later in a parked vehicle on campus.
Attendees said the things they loved most about McCluskey were her kindness, her dedication and her honesty.
McCluskey, a senior from Pullman, Washington, was found dead in a parked vehicle in a lot outside of a campus residence hall.
Athletics Director Mark Harlan said counsellors and psychologists were available to support McCluskey's teammates, coaches and friends.
McCluskey, a communications major at the University of Utah, also was a college track athlete, reported ABC News. She said when she heard the news of McCluskey's death she felt like, she had to do something for the family because of the kindness they showed her when her husband passed.

McCluskey, who ranks 10th in the pentathlon in school history, was returning home to her apartment after a night class on Monday when she was apparently attacked, her parents said in a statement. She was a 2015 honors graduate of Pullman High School where she was the Washington state champion in the high jump and the school record holder in the 100 meter hurdles.
