Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski arrested

07 October 2018

Cape Town - Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski were reportedly detained while protesting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.‏.

Tracey Litt attended the Kavanaugh protest at the Hart Senate Office Building, in Washington DC, on October 4 when she noticed the star not too far away from her.

A video was shared on Twitter of Schumer being asked by cops, "Do you want to be arrested?".

In a tweet yesterday, Ratajkowski also said that she was protesting Kavanaugh's nomination because of the sexual assault accusations "by multiple women". The top judge has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, but FBI investigators have found no evidence to suggest he's guilty.

Interpol makes official request to China for info on missing president
Al Jazeera's Adrian Brow, reporting from Beijing , said China's silence is a "reflection of how sensitive this case is". Since Xi Jinping came to power in 2012, well over a million party officials have been disciplined in some way.

"Let's stay together, let's fight, let's keep showing up", she said.

The comedian was one of a number of demonstrators challenged by police for shouting and waving signs inside a senate office building in Washington. Men that hurt women can't hold managerial positions.

Now, Schumer says, Ratajkowski has been taking a lot of heat on social media - not because she was protesting Kavanaugh, but because she was wearing the wrong clothes while she demonstrated.

A picture tweeted by fellow protestor Ellen Lovelidge (@djlilelle) showed Schumer and model Emily Ratajkowski standing against a wall with other women.

[Teams] Tottenham vs Barcelona: Confirmed Line-Ups From Wembley
The crowd were fantastic and that's what we need tomorrow night. "Every player must feel they can win and achieve what we want". It was the Lionel MESSI show in London at Wembley as FC Barcelona won 4-2 against Mauricio POCHETTINO's Tottenham .

Earlier in the march, Schumer addressed the crowd with a message of support.

As one of the protestors put it: "We do not do 10 days of marching and then go back to our lives, because nothing is the same any more".

Since the FBI's judgement increased the likelihood Kavanaugh would be voted into the Supreme Court, protests were organised on the Capitol steps. Many Republicans and President Donald Trump have stood by Kavanaugh during the confirmation process, which is expected to come to a final vote in the Senate this weekend.

It comes as Mr Kavanaugh is looking increasingly likely to be confirmed to the top United States court, despite the sexual assault allegations made against him by Dr Christine Blasey Ford and two other women.
