It was the Lionel MESSI show in London at Wembley as FC Barcelona won 4-2 against Mauricio POCHETTINO's Tottenham.

The Catalan club have now scored eight times in their opening two group games, with Messi getting five of them.

Philippe Coutinho had the visitors ahead inside of two minutes, smashing a half-volley into an empty net after Hugo Lloris was caught out trying to chase down a Messi through ball.

Harry Kane pegged Barcelona back, but the magnificent Messi, who twice hit the post then scored a third before Erik Lamela again reduced the arrears.

CSKA Moscow v Real Madrid: Away win but hosts can score
Julen Lopetegui is adamant Real Madrid were the better team "by far" in their 0-0 draw at home to Atletico Madrid on Saturday . After Antoine Griezmann's chance mid-way through the first half, the away side did not want to push for a deciding goal.

It was a near faultless performance from the Argentine but Pochettino was happy with how Spurs dealt with him in the first half although conceded he was hard to stop as the game developed.

"If we start the game this way, it's so tough for the players".

Barcelona were two up before the half-hour mark thanks to a sensational goal from Ivan Rakitic, who side-volleyed home an unstoppable shot after Coutinho had played the ball back to him at the top of the penalty area.

Ter Stegen came to their rescue on 33 minutes as he stuck out a glove to parry away Lamela's cross that deflected towards goal off Nelson Semedo, while Messi could only pick out Lloris from 14 yards out after combining with Alba as the action quickly switched to the opposite end of the pitch.

Messi would not miss again, though, sending Alba clear down the left with a trademark curling pass and timing his run into the box perfectly to slot a first-time finish past Lloris to restore Barca's two-goal lead four minutes later. Suarez looked set to hit it at the near post, but instead produced a flawless dummy that left Messi to guide the ball into the corner of the net from six yards.

"It is a period when we are not having good luck with injuries", Pochettino said.

Barcelona ran out 4-2 winners in the end at Wembley but Spurs almost forced a famous comeback after clawing the game back to 3-2. The crowd were fantastic and that's what we need tomorrow night. "Every player must feel they can win and achieve what we want".
