A warning means the expected conditions (winds greater that 74 mph for hurricanes and winds greater than 39 mph for tropical storm-force winds) are likely within the next 36 hours.

Rain bands and gusty winds from Tropical Storm Gordon swept across South Florida on Monday morning and the biggest impact appeared to be power outages.

The National Hurricane Center ended a tropical storm warning late Monday for a region that included South Florida, spanning from Miami-Dade County to Bonita Beach on the state's west coast. Heavy rains are expected over the Gulf Coast states.

This storm will move into the Gulf of Mexico today and track northwest.
