NBC accused of trying to quash Weinstein harassment probe

The Daily Beast further reported that one of Weinstein's attorneys threatened Farrow by stating that NBC News had assured the attorney in writing that Farrow would not use any information he obtained about Weinstein while reporting the story for the network.

Farrow is writing a book, "Catch and Kill", about his reporting into Weinstein and other men.

He has, however, dropped hints about the network's reluctance, telling Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, "I walked into the door at The New Yorker with an explosive reportable piece that should have been public earlier. NBC owed it to those fearless women who spoke to us to get their stories out", he said. "We were told to put the story on the back burner".

In each of these instances, rather than bring in outside investigators to fully vet the scandal (as Fox News has done), NBC News chose to investigate NBC News, and each and every time NBC News was able to report that it found no wrongdoing at NBC News.
