But the 23-year-old from Portland, Ore., does remember waking up trapped in her SUV in the Pacific Ocean and the seven long days that she fought to survive. She tells authorities she lost control after swerving to avoid an animal.
An Oregon woman who was badly injured and stranded for a week after her Jeep plunged 250 feet over a cliff into the ocean near Big Sur in California says she survived by drinking fresh water dripping from moss until she was rescued by a couple hiking along the beach. "We saw a bumper first and we were like, there's a bumper, that's weird. That's weird.' And then we came around another bend and saw the car" at the bottom of a 200 foot cliff, said Chelsea.
"Angela was right there in the rocks, just looked like hell", Chad Moore told the station.
According to California Highway Patrol, she appeared to have a minor shoulder injury and concussion and had survived "by drinking water from the radiator of her vehicle". She broke a window to escape her vehicle.
Hernandez was driving from Portland to Southern California when she mysteriously disappeared and fell out of communication with her family, officials said.
When she was found her auto was partially submerged in the water and she was able to walk and talk as police scaled down the cliff on ropes to hoist her to safety on Friday. Her vehicle, police said, "was partially in the water".

Sheriff's officials told the San Francisco Chronicle they are unsure exactly when her auto went over the cliff, but said she may have been there for several days. "It's day seven and you guys helped us through the whole thing and Angela would not be OK" without you. "You're a hero, that's unreal", said Chad.

She was scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin County Municipal Court on Friday morning, according to court records. Avenatti had claimed the arrest was a politically motivated "set up" and also blasted the police's explanation.
