The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL won’t settle the notch war

31 May 2018

That acquisition was completed in January, and Google said that the employees would now work in-house on future Pixel devices. A report from Bloomberg claims that Foxconn will be the manufacturer for the Pixel 3 and details several aspects of the phone's new design. While the alleged Pixel 3 screen-protector leak also shows it with two large holes for dual front cameras, Bloomberg does not vouch for that aspect of the leak.

Not too long ago we got a look at what was rumored to be a pair of screen protectors for the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, with the latter showing off a very distinct notch at the top of the screen. Fresh leaks inform that the new flagships will be manufactured by Foxconn, and be Verizon exclusive (in the US) once again.

For anybody hoping, therefore, that Google would use the Pixel 3 to settle the argument on display notches, there's going to be disappointment.

Motorola Moto Z3 Play set for debut on this date
The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch FHD+ display and is powered by the Snapdragon 450 that runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. The announcement of a new modular smartphone the Z-series from Motorola is expected in about 2 weeks.

The new devices will have upgraded rear cameras and two front-facing cameras.

Like the Pixel 2 XL handset, the next-generation model will have an OLED display, but this time it'll feature the en vogue "notch".

One of the biggest letdowns with the Pixel 2 devices was the lacklustre design. Earlier, Google made a $1.1 billion deal with HTC and one of its smartphone design teams, which consisted of 2000 employees.

US to shorten length of visas for some Chinese citizens: White House
Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on an additional $100 billion in Chinese goods as well if Beijing retaliates. It was not clear if the developments would have any impact on the planned visit to China by Ross.

According to people familiar with the current state of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL development, Google will hedge its bets on screen shape.

While Google plans to launch its new hardware, the company also is working on an upgraded Android operating system for release as soon as next year that takes advantage of greater artificial intelligence capabilities. The larger device will have a almost edge-to-edge screen, plus a notch design at the top similar to the iPhone X, Bloomberg reports.

Last September, on the eve of the Pixel 2 launch, Google announced that it would acquire about 2,000 employees from the struggling handset maker HTC.

Kilauea Volcano In Hawaii Has Covered Almost 4 Square Miles In Lava
The molten rock was expected to continue to flow across the Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) facility, according to the U.S. Officials say there was no release of any unsafe hydrogen sulfide gas after lava crept over the plugged wells Sunday.

With the announcement of Android P supporting screen notches, it might not surprise anyone that Google may, itself, incorporate the popular display cutout in their own phones.
