Reiterating she was sorry for her racist tweet, Barr said she would continue to defend herself and "handle my sadness the way I want to". She said that Robert Iger, chief executive of ABC parent Walt Disney Co., called to apologize and told her before it became public that the show was being canceled.
In a statement, ABC said Barr's tweet "is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values", leading to the cancellation of the show.
The TV star, who falsely said that Valerie Jarrett, former advisor to Barack Obama, has connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, says her tweet was written after she had taken the prescription sleeping pill Ambien. Barr, a vocal conservative conspiracy theorist, was both making a false claim that Jarrett is a member of the radical Sunni Islamist group and comparing a black woman to an ape. Barr apologized and deleted her Monday-night tweet, calling it a "bad joke", but the damage had already been done.
In other Tweets, Barr said that she was exhausted of "being attacked and belittled more than other comedians who have said worse" and asked for people not to boycott ABC, saying that the network has the right to "do what they wish". Within 24 hours of the racist tweet going live, ABC had pulled the plug and cancelled "Roseanne".
Tesla in autonomous mode hits parked police car
Jim Cota] said the luxury electric vehicle crashed in nearly the same place as another Tesla about a year ago. Authorities say a Tesla sedan in Autopilot mode crashed into a parked police cruiser in Southern California.
The 65-year-old is due to appear on the Joe Rogan podcast in the U.S. on Friday.
"I'm exhausted of being attacked and belittled more than other comedians who have said worse", she tweeted. "I hope the good work done is not totally eclipsed by those abhorrent and offensive comments, and that Roseanne seeks the help she so clearly needs". "Most comics have said far worse but they vote the way Hollywood wants & are excused", one follower's tweet read. In some, she doubled down on her original remark, while in others she blasted her former television network for giving her the axe.
What did Trump say?
Twitter can't get rid of her that fast. A racist one. ABC made a choice. Even so, she acknowledges Barr's responsibility in the matter. On Tuesday afternoon, Barr apologized for the tweet and said she was "leaving Twitter".
Gareth Bale: I will decide my future in the summer
Liverpool will hope he can recover and be as pivotal for them next season as they look to challenge for honours once again. Ramos was jeered throughout the match after what was a devastating blow for the Liverpool fans.
"I'm anxious about all the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers who come right to their defense", Jarrett said.
Before the announcement of the cancellation, Roseanne consulting producer and famed writer and comedian Wanda Sykes vowed not to return to the show.
She also fired back at Michael Fishman and Sara Gilbert's statements.
During a town hall meeting, Jarrett stated, "I'm fine". Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her.
