Spring snowstorms expected to continue through this week in Helena

Likely, this will turn into mainly all heavy wet snow showers for most of the morning, and into the early afternoon before tapering off.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy snow and blowing snow are possible late Monday night through Tuesday.

A jet stream south of the Omaha-Council Bluffs area means lower temperatures to the north and precipitation that can include snow, said Katie Gross, a meteorologist at the weather service office in Valley.

Another system is now forecast to spread an expansive swath of snow from the northern Rockies to the northern Plains and upper Midwest this weekend.
