In some cases, the assaults he committed were under the guise of treatment, but the 54-year-old has confessed his conduct had no legitimate medical objective.

Numerous accusers have sued Michigan State, USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic Committee. "It's a such a horrifying thing to happen", said Raisman.

"It felt very uncomfortable, very degrading. Why?" It started - you know, he was looking at me.

"When I heard him say he was guilty, I'm happy about that", she said.

Michigan State spokesman Jason Cody said the university "unequivocally denies" accusations that it covered up misconduct by school administrators.

Raisman was quick to respond to the admission, speaking out with message that included three very important words that appeared to put the feud to rest: "I support you".

"I know that no matter what you wear, it NEVER gives anyone the right to harass or abuse you", she said.

Nassar appeared in a MI courtroom early Wednesday morning dressed in his jailhouse orange jumpsuit where he entered the plea.

In a courtroom packed with victims and their families, Nassar pleaded guilty to seven counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Ingham County Circuit Court.

In exchange for the plea, the attorney general's office agreed to drop other charges against him and not pursue charges related to child pornography that fall outside the federal child porn case against him.

Nassar offered a statement of remorse and told the court he hopes his guilty plea will help the community move forward and heal.

"I have no animosity towards anyone", Nassar said, and added that he prays for forgiveness every day with his rosary. I just want healing.

Ms. Maroney was the first of the gold medal-winning gymnasts to publicly accuse Dr. Nassar when she revealed details of her abuse in October, and Jamie Dantzscher, a bronze medalist from the 2000 team, was among the initial group of Dr. Nassar's accusers previous year. They came forward after fellow gymnast Rachael Denhollander went public with her story a year ago.

Judge Rosemarie Aquilina said Nassar said sexual abuse was a nationwide 'epidemic'.

In an interview with CBS' 60 Minutes that aired November 12, Raisman alleged she was one of the gymnasts who was sexually abused by Nassar.

Women's gymnastics coach Kathie Klages resigned earlier this year, but others remain on the job. The document says that between February 6, 2003 and Sept, 20, 2016, Nassar was in possession of computer disks and electronic files that had thousands of images of child pornography.

"As President Simon has said, we recognize the pain sexual violence causes and deeply regret any time someone in our community experiences it", Cody said.

Citing a source, the Associated Press (via the Chicago Sun-Times) reported Tuesday that Nassar will soon "plead guilty to multiple charges of sexual assault and face at least 25 years in prison". "It would be like saying that because of the leotards we wore, it was our fault that we were abused by Larry Nassar", Douglas wrote.
