Google Pixel 2 XL has a problem with responsiveness at screen edges

14 November 2017

Just a bit before the new Pixel 2 phones launched, Google released a new trade-in program that allows you to swap an older phone for credit that can be applied (in the form of a partial refund) on a purchase. There was also some unresponsiveness on the left-hand side in the video. Members of the Pixel User Community website are reporting that the screen has little or no responsiveness at its edges, resulting in certain taps or gestures going unrecognized. Further, one poster conducted a test on the smartphone and found out that the trouble is only with the taps on the edges, though swipes work perfectly fine. However, tapping on the edges is not always detected by the handset. The good news is that Google has acknowledged the issue and will sort it out in a future OTA update.
