Patriots claim Martellus Bennett on waivers, reports say

On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers announced their decision to part ways with Martellus Bennett.

Bennett was cut by the Packers to end a weird situation.

The Packers cited a "failure to disclose a physical condition" for making the move.

West Ham turned down by three high-profile managers before Bilic sacking
West Ham fans traditionally like to see their players produce a stylish brand of football. Leon Osman worked under Moyes at Everton and believes his ex-manager is a great choice.

Bennett has recently dealt with a shoulder injury that has kept him out of games.

Before he was cut, Bennett did not play in the Packer's 30-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football this week and was not expected to start against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

If Bennett does get healthy, he proved last season he is capable of thriving in the Patriots' offense and he provides a potent threat in the red zone alongside New England's four-time Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski. He had 24 catches for 233 yards. He signed a three-year, $21 million contract with Green Bay during free agency this offseason after playing a key role in the Patriots' run to the Super Bowl 51 title in 2016. These next games are for you. The economics are favorable to the club: It's really a bargain price for 2017, as Bennett will receive a prorated portion of his base salary, which totals $423,529, as well as be eligible for $300,000 in roster bonuses.

Waymo Announces 'Fully Self-Driving Cars Are Here,' Taxi Service Coming
Arizona , like many states, has no restrictions against operating an autonomous vehicle without a person in the driver's seat. During a demonstration last week, Waymo gave rides to reporters on a closed course that included citylike scenarios.

"Martellus Bennett will not practice this week, he will not be available for the game", coach Mike McCarthy said before Wednesday's practice.

During the season opener against Seattle, Bennett was one of three players who knelt for the national anthem. He covers the National Football League and New England Patriots.
