Spacey, a "House of Cards" actor and two-time Oscar victor, became involved in a swirl of sex scandals in Hollywood last weekend since "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made sexual advances toward him back in 1986 when he was 14 years old.
Adding fuel to the latest controversy was news on Monday that Netflix will soon end the landmark political drama "House of Cards", which stars Spacey as a corrupt and closeted bisexual US president.
Rapp made the allegation in an interview with BuzzFeed News that was published Sunday. However, he apologized "if I did behave then as [Rapp] describes. for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior". Netflix announced on Monday Season 6 of "House of Cards" would be the show's last. This is a breaking story.
South Africa Win T20I Series Against Bangladesh, David Miller Hammers Fastest Ton
He shared a 79-run fourth-wicket partnership off 41 balls with Hashim Amla , who made 85 off 51 balls with 11 fours and a six. They were comprehensively beaten in two tests and hammered by South Africa in the three one-day internationals.
Netflix and the show's producer Media Rights Capital had already made a decision to end the series at the end of the current season but on Tuesday they chose to pause the production, which is filmed in Baltimore, "to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew". Though Netflix and producers Media Rights Capital were leaning towards ending the show a while ago, the key cast and creatives were only alerted earlier in the day in a series of calls.
Season six is due to arrive on Netflix in the middle of next year, and the streamer said it had always intended for it to be the show's last run even prior to this week's allegations against its star.
"This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life", he wrote. "I could never imagine [that] anyone else I know would do something like that to a 14-year-old boy".
Nationals Hire Dave Martinez As New Manager
After the 2014 season, he interviewed to be Washington's skipper, but the job ultimately went to first-time manager Matt Williams. While the team made it to the postseason both years with Baker as manager, it never moved beyond the first round of the playoffs.
Spacey, who is now 58, also spoke publicly about his sexual orientation for the first time, revealing that he is gay.
"That said, I take reports of such behaviour seriously and this is no exception". "House of Cards" was up for best drama at this year's Emmys ceremony, with Wright and Spacey both receiving lead acting nods. "I feel for Mr Rapp and I support his courage".
"House of Cards" is caving in.
