Mauricio Pochettino slams Pep Guardiola: Tottenham are not 'the Harry Kane team'

14 October 2017

Mauricio Pochettino has described Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as being "disrespectful" after he recently appeared to suggest that Tottenham were a one man team.

"But in the same sentence he said Manchester United, Mourinho, and then he said it was the Harry Kane team".

However, with limited regular game time so far at Spurs due to the first XI's success in both the Premier League and Champions League, the talented youngster may well see his future elsewhere if he is unable to secure guaranteed minutes on the pitch.

Speaking ahead of his side's game with Bournemouth at the weekend, Pochettino told reporters that the comment was particularly confusing given some of the accusations that used to be made about Guardiola's Barcelona side and their reliance on Lionel Messi.

Before the global break, Guardiola named "the Harry Kane team" alongside Chelsea and Manchester United as City's title rivals after the England worldwide scored six goals in four Premier League games in September to fire Tottenham into third behind the Manchester clubs.

The software fix prevents the activation of the speaker with a touch, which was a feature meant to offer options for activation. The issue prevailed over the few initial units of Google Home Mini , including the ones that were distributed as review units.

Pochettino has bristled at the suggestion that Spurs are a one-man team, calling Guardiola's comments disrespectful, but the Spaniard now says it was never his intention to belittle them. I think everyone deserves to be recognised as part of the success of the team.

"So I think last season, the person who spoke most about appreciating the way Tottenham play was me".

"It wasn't disrespectful to myself".

And although Pochettino feels the comments from the Spanish boss are disrespectful, the Tottenham manager says that his players have seen the amusing side. "If you're a manager you must show more, no?"

"I respect his opinion but it's a sad comment".

"I think Mauricio made a mistake".

As to whether they French club might sell the defensive midfielder, Vasilyev said: "We are very happy that we managed to keep him... but we realise in Monaco we have a certain model, that at a certain moment when we feel it's right, we have to let players go in order to be successful again".

Plus a little video from the press conference. "I'm sure I will reply", he added.

"It was amusing when I heard him the other day because I know Pep very well", the Argentine said during his Bournemouth pre-match press conference.

Along with King, they will add rookie Travis Rudolph and wide receiver Darius Powe to the practice squad, ESPN reported. They'll join Roger Lewis Jr., who came out of Sunday's game as the only healthy receiver on the 53-man roster.
