Since Sunday, Jones has been outspoken regarding his stance that players must "not disrespect the flag" and that they must stand for the anthem or they will be benched.

Fister lost to the Astros during that final weekend, but didn't get blasted, allowing three runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings. It could certainly provide Houston Astros fans a rare opportunity to see a game at Fenway Park in some pretty good seats.

"If the government pays for the patriotic display and the firing is a result of the behavior being deemed insufficiently patriotic, it is conceivable that that a claim could then be articulated", said Floyd Abrams, a First Amendment attorney in NY. The law here is that you have the ability to act with your co-worker. "Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear".

On Sunday night, the NFL Players Association said that discussions on social issues should not be stifled. They are still being paid, and I don't think they necessarily have the right to play in games.

Such re-evaluations don't change history, but they do change how we remember it. "You honor it by making it no longer invisible". The United States commemorated Columbus Day on Monday, but the 80-year-old holiday is losing its luster among some communities.
