Honeypreet Insan also known as Honey Preet Insaan rejects allegations of having illicit relations with jailed Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, calling Guru Gurmeet as her father. She and other top Dera members were booked for inciting violence. She said that she would take legal advice on whether to surrender to the police, during her interview and also added that she went into depression after the arrest of her father Gurmeet. She also travelled along with him in a special chopper which ferried them to Rohtak from Panchkula after the conviction. Speaking to the News 24 channel, she said: "When Papa went away (was jailed), my world came crashing down".
There had been no trace of Honeypreet after August 25.

Reacting to her statements, her former husband said the Dera management supported her while she was in hiding during the last one month. She asked if a daughter has no right to express her love for her father. When she was asked if she is going to surrender to police, she said, "My father and I have full faith in justice".
The Dera followers have said that Ram Rahim was jailed as he is Hindu and such organisations often fall target to accusations. Honeypreet denies that she was involved in any of the violence.
