Ryan: Trump did not broker a DACA agreement with Schumer and Pelosi

Joe Walsh, a radio host and supporter of President Donald Trump, slammed the president Thursday after Democratic leaders said Trump had agreed to work toward a deal to handle the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

While White House officials have suggested legislation on DACA could move forward without wall funding, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders disputed the characterization that a deal had been reached to leave it out of any legislation focused on the Dreamers.

Pelosi's comment was immediately shut down on Twitter by Trump saying "no deal was made last night on DACA, massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. would be subject to vote".

Speaking in Florida on Thursday morning, Trump said he was not looking at citizenship or amnesty.

DACA has helped about eight hundred thousand young undocumented immigrants receive work permits and deportation relief.

Trump later that morning told reporters that he is "fairly close" to brokering a deal that would protect DACA beneficiaries as well as beef up border security.
