Treasury's Mnuchin says no tax cut for wealthy

16 September 2017

Earlier this week, reports emerged that Mnuchin had requested the use of a government plane for his and Linton's honeymoon. "Being a New Yorker, I don't have any interest in watching the eclipse", Muchin said on Thursday, according to The Washington Post. I've never asked the government to pay for my personal travel.

Mnuchin's initial request for a plane for his honeymoon, which was first reported by ABC News, is the second controversy regarding Mnuchin's travel at Treasury.

"It is imperative that he have access to secure communications, and it is our practice to consider a wide range of options to ensure he has these capabilities during his travel, including the possible use of military aircraft", a spokesman for the department said in a statement.

Mnuchin's governmental flight to Kentucky raised eyebrows in August after Louise Linton, his wife, posted an Instagram picture of herself getting off the plane and tagged the designers that she was wearing. The inspector general is reviewing whether he improperly used that trip to catch a prime view of the solar eclipse with his wife, a Scottish actress and model named Louise Linton. The secretary's office said he was there for meetings about tax reform.

The attention to his aircraft is the latest in a period of turbulence for Mnuchin and Linton, who was criticized for the online shaming of an OR woman who questioned her Instagram flaunting after the Kentucky trip. That's the one that led his terrible wife Louise Linton to poor shame a mother of three on Instagram for calling out her touting of high-end fashion brands while ostensibly on government business, just like any hard-working American would do!

"This was something that, again, we just considered amongst other things", Mnuchin said at another point.

"Aw! Did you think this was a personal trip?!"

Linton responded by belittling the woman in a series of comments and even mentioned her honeymoon. Adorable! Did you think the United States govt paid for our honeymoon or personal travel?!

President Donald Trump said he had "total confidence" in his Treasury secretary. "I'm pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day "trip" than you did".
