Hurricane Jose twists in Atlantic

14 September 2017

Hurricane Jose's forecast, September 12, 2017.

Hurricane Jose is heading east at 5 mph about 450 miles north-northeast of Grand Turk Island, as of the 11 a.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center.

As for intensity, the hurricane center is predicting a high-end Category 1 hurricane with 90-mph winds by Saturday. Although Jose's strength has diminished over the last two days, there is the chance that it could increase in strength once it completes its loop and turns towards the coast.

As people in Florida, the Caribbean and the South cope with the aftermath of hurricanes Harvey and Irma, another hurricane is spinning in the Atlantic, and forecasters aren't certain if it will impact the U.S.

They ended up at a bay on Whitfield Avenue and US 41 in Sarasota where the water had receded leading the local wildlife stranded. According to Fox 13, law enforcement joined the rescue effort but eventually directed everyone to safety as the storm approached.

A local meteorologist has sought to allay the fears of residents of a possible "double hit" after worldwide experts revealed that Hurricane Jose is expected to make a loop that will affect parts of the Caribbean.

Hurricane Jose continues moving slowly eastward with little change in strength.

Current long-term forecast models for Jose are all over the map next week.

"It could make water along the shore more choppy", Sine said.

Kuwait Emir to hold talks with Trump

Fortunately, over the weekend, Jose only brushed the islands of the Caribbean that had been slammed by Irma, such as Barbuda, Antigua and the Virgin Islands.

"It has the potential to completely miss the east coast", she said.

The future path of Jose after it makes its stalling loop in the western Atlantic remains uncertain, but we will continue to monitor it for any potential USA impact.
