Van Plows into Crowd at Barcelona Tourist Hotspot

A white van ploughed into crowds on the Ramblas tourist area in Barcelona, in what police have desribed as a terrorist attack, that took place outside a Kosher restaurant when the driver of the van reportedly fled on foot.

Catalan police said they were continuing to hunt for the perpetrators and that the force had activated its terror response protocols.

The statement from the Clemson athletic communications department stated - "We've been in contact with our men's basketball program now in Barcelona and the entire travel party is safe and secure".

The incident happened in the Las Ramblas area this afternoon.

Multiple sources and news agencies have confirmed the incident as a terrorist attack. Some claimed attacks were planned by ISIS leaders, while others were planned independently.

At this time, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and no motive is apparent. The centre of the road is pedestrianised but cars can travel on either side.
