12 August 2017

SC police officer Quincy Smith was shot multiple times by a suspect he was attempting to question, and the entire dramatic, shocking encounter was captured on a tiny camera in the officer's glasses.

The entire exchange was captured on shocking body camera footage and released after the shooter, 29-year-old Malcolm Orr of Estill, S.C., was convicted of attempted murder and possessing a weapon in a violent crime.

Officer Smith was responding to a call regarding attempted theft of groceries from store customers when he noticed Orr walking from the store. After spotting a man matching the description, Smith got out of his vehicle and ordered the suspect - later identified as Malcolm Antwan Orr - to stop.

Smith survived the shooting despite suffering two broken arm bones and a life threatening wound to his neck. Smith purchased a pair of glasses with a camera on them and was wearing them during the incident.
