Taylor Swift's defense attorney dug into the former radio DJ accused of groping her during a 2013 photo shoot at the onset of questioning in the trial Tuesday-after the DJ's attorney called him to the stand first thing.
The trial of a lawsuit between Swift and David Mueller, a former radio host she accuses of groping her, begins Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, in U.S. District Court in Denver.
With Swift and her mother, Andrea Swift, present, Mueller told the jury of six women and two men that he was sacked from his job even after he was "100 percent clear" with his managers that he did not grope Taylor.
David Mueller claimed he was sacked from his job at radio station KYGO after being falsely accused by the 27-year-old pop star of groping her butt while posing for a photo. She frequently made eye contact with Mueller and occasionally looked frustrated with his statements, shaking her head in disbelief.
The courtroom layout: Swift, her mother and Bell were seated at a table in the center of the room, across from the jury box (six women and two men), while Mueller spoke from a corner of the room near the judge's bench. "When she didn't invite me over to pose for the photograph with her, I considered her cold and stand-offish", Mueller said, during more than four hours on the witness stand (with testimony continuing in the morning).
8 flights cancelled due to internet cable fault
PTCL had said earlier the global consortium had identified the fault in IMEWE cable near Saudi Arabia and was now working to resolve the issue.
Swift, who has 85 million Twitter and 102 million Instagram followers, has said in depositions she wants the case to serve as an example to other women "who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts".
Mueller said in depositions that his damages amount to some $3 million.
Baldridge explains why perhaps the Swift team didn't want to get the police involved in the alleged groping, saying that making the allegation would put everything in the public spotlight.
Mueller testified that he drew that conclusion because Swift didn't welcome him into the photograph and paid more attention to his girlfriend at the time.
Another point of contention during cross-examination was Mueller's allegation that his former boss Eddie Haskell had bragged about touching Swift's rear-end that same night.
World Trade Center Victim Identified Nearly 16 Years After 9/11 Terror Attacks
In some cases, scientists have gone back to the same bone fragment 10 or more times , hoping new technology will provide answers. Till date 40% of people, i.e., 1,112 people still remain unidentified almost 16 years after the terror attack.
After Swift came forward about the incident, Mueller was sacked from his job at the country music station, despite coming forward with his own version of events.
Arthur Lewis, also 32 and a real estate agent, said he is "a big supporter of Taylor Swift and just wanted to check it out".
Following the opening statements, Mueller, who made $150,000 a year at the radio station, denied in his testimony that he was seeking that much money.
Baldridge did get Mueller to concede that various supervisors with KYGO and its parent firm had discussed the possibility of letting him go even before the encounter with Swift. He said that his hand did not touch her butt and that he did not touch her inappropriately.
Mueller was dismissed after being accused of grabbing the buttocks of the singer before a 2013 Denver concert. It's ironic that Mueller would mention Mayer, the ex about whom Swift penned "Dear John" (whose lyrics include "Don't you think nineteen's too young to be played by your dark twisted games"). "This side has never changed its position", he said.
