4 young men vanish in Pennsylvania

16 July 2017

Their 20-year-old son, Cosmo DiNardo, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing a auto owned by Meo.

NBC Philadelphia reported that police are investigating whether a 20-year-old who was arrested Monday on gun charges from February is connected to the incident, though he is not now considered a suspect.

DiNardo was prohibited from owning such a weapon, the document alleges, as he was "known to be suffering from a mental illness" following his involuntary commitment to a mental institution.

He was held on a $1 million bond in that case and was released after his parents posted $100,000 cash bail.

DiNardo faces four counts each of criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, and abuse of corpse, as well as 12 other charges.

If he were forced to step down, his ruling PML-N party could appoint a new leader as prime minister until the polls. Meanwhile, some banners, in support of the prime minister, have also surfaced in his home constituency.

DiNardo is now only being held on firearms charges but he is considered a suspect of interest in the disappearances of the four men.

The person with knowledge of the confession said one of the men was killed July 5 and the other three were killed July 7.

The details were provided after one of DiNardo's lawyers said Thursday that DiNardo had confessed to killing the missing suburban Philadelphia men and told investigators where their bodies were located.

DiNardo's arrest Wednesday was his second trip to jail since the four men disappeared. Lang said in exchange for the confession, prosecutors agreed to take the death penalty off the table.

Although there are indications that some or all of the men knew one another, investigators are working to confirm that information and the extent of any connections, Weintraub said.

The victims are 19-year-old Dean Finocchiaro, 22-year-old Mark Sturgis, 21-year-old Tom Meo and 19-year-old Jimi Taro Patrick.

"We're going to see this investigation through to the end", said the district attorney.

Newtown Township, Plumstead Township, Middletown Township Police and state police are all involved in the joint investigation, Bucks County Assistant District Attorney Gregg Shore told ABC affiliate WPVI-TV.

Authorities said they've recovered several pieces of evidence from a sprawling farm property, and elsewhere, while investigating the disappearance of four young Pennsylvania men believed to be victims of foul play.

DiNardo's wealthy family controls many sizable real estate holdings, including the 68-acre farm in Bucks County where Finocchiaro's body was found.
