For the Conservatives, election results have been shocking since they lost 12 seats of sitting MPs forcing them to go for a coalition government. The Scottish National Party (SNP) were down by 22, losing seats to the Tories, Labour and Liberal Democrats, in a major setback for Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

According to a forecast from BBC, the Conservatives stand to win 322 seats, short of the 326 needed to secure a majority.
