Ex-NBA player Sebastian Telfair arrested on gun charges

13 June 2017

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found three loaded firearms, one semi-automatic rifle, a ballistic vest, large quantity of ammunition and two bags of marijuana inside, police said. When the officers stopped the auto, they spotted a blunt on the dashboard, the NYPD said.

Telfair was pulled over driving through the Brooklyn neighborhood in a Ford F-150 pickup truck because the headlights were not turned on.

Telfair was drafted by the Trail Blazers with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, and played two seasons with the team.

It adds that Panama recognizes only one legitimate China and that Taiwan "forms an inalienable part of Chinese territory". A Chinese vessel was the first to pass through the Panama Canal after a major expansion project was completed last June.

Telfair was arrested in 2007 after a loaded gun was found in his vehicle, and pled guilty to criminal possession of a weapon.

They then asked Telfair and Thomas to step out of the vehicle and placed them under arrest.

Telfair, the cousin of Stephon Marbury, played for the Portland Trailblazers, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors before finishing his playing career in China in 2014. His last game in the National Basketball Association was November 26, 2014, for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he played in China after being released by the Thunder.

Telfair is facing charges of gun possession and possession of a controlled substance.

The arrest is not the fist time Telfair has had run-ins with law enforcement. Telfair's attorney said the weapons are licensed in Florida.

He pleaded guilty a year later to criminal possession of a weapon and was sentenced to three years of probation.
