Celtics power past Wizards in Game 7, 115-105

18 May 2017

Boston advances to the Eastern Conference finals, where it will host the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 on Wednesday.

With the win, the Cavaliers became the first team in National Basketball Association history to record back-to-back four-game sweeps over the first two rounds of the playoffs in consecutive seasons.

The Celtics' bench outscored the Wizards' bench 48-5 in the game. Down by three, Thomas hit two 3-pointers and Marcus Smart one in a 1:13 span to put the home team ahead to stay.

"A friend called me and said "Be at your best when your best is needed" and my best was needed tonight", Olynyk said after the win. Now they come in as the significant underdog against a Cleveland Cavaliers team that has apparently flipped the switch so hard that they ripped it off the wall. We played them four times. We played them four times. "We gotta get ready for the defending champs, we know that". Boston made 29 of their 40 shots in the paint area, while Washington only made 20 of 35 in the paint. The five-foot-nine guard is averaging 25.1 points and six assists a game in the playoffs that started a day after his younger sister died in a vehicle accident.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress will be seen in " Baywatch " which will mark her big Hollywood debut. These pictures are making us truly believe that Priyanka Chopra is officially the beach goddess.

Washington's bench also submitted their worst performance of the seven-game series, as Bojan Bogdanovic's five points were the only ones scored by the backups. The Wizards got it down to 101-97 with 6:10 to play because of Beal's four-point play, but they couldn't get stops. Boston carried their positive momentum into the fourth quarter, where Olynyk took over.

Both teams were a little tight in the early going with neither team scoring a field goal in the first two minutes of action.

Boston's biggest problem was being 3-of-12 from three in first half, and that allowed the Wizards to have a 55-53 lead at the half. The Wizards had all of the momentum, Bradley Beal was on his way to a 38-point night, and it looked like the C's were on their way to a second-round playoff exit. But you can be sure, the Celtics will compete - it's who they are.

All 11 games between these teams - all physical affairs - were won by the home team and the Celtics have beaten the Wizards nine straight times at TD Garden dating back to 2014. The Wizards were 7-0 in the playoffs when allowing under 110 points, but they fell to 0-6 when giving up more than 110.

Brad Stevens thought there was a simple explanation for what happened at TD Garden Monday night. He grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double and played tough defense most of the game.

On the third goal, Arvidsson sped up the ice, sold Gibson on a shot, before attempting a wraparound that Forsberg finished off. Filip Forsberg tied the game with a deflection goal at 12:34 of the first, as Nashville heavily controlled the opening period.

Olynyk's highlight basket of the night came during the first quarter, when he faked a dribble-hand-off to Thomas on the right wing and turned the corner for a drive to the rack that eventually turned into a three-point play.
