Is Arrested Development Season 5 finally on its way?

Producer Mitch Hurwitz past year said he was "very close" to cutting a deal with Netflix for a fifth season. However, there's no information yet as to when fans can expect new episodes to premiere on Netflix.

"There's always money in the banana stand". The hope is to start shooting new episodes as early as this summer. At the time, Hurwitz said that the fourth season was just the beginning of the show's second act. After all, most of the fun of watching Arrested Development comes from seeing the core group of actors interact with and play off of one another. "I love Arrested Development, but it was never a huge thing", Grazer said then, "but people are loyal to it, and we're going to do another 17 episodes".

If the production on this new season really does begin this summer, that's when most shows are on hiatus, so everyone should be available in theory.
