Spoilers ahead for folks who haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
The first film brought us its mixed bag of characters.
The action and sci-fi sequel, directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana, earned $22 million more than its predecessor, "Guardians of the Galaxy", did on its opening weekend in 2014. For the beating heart of the action of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is nothing less than patricide.
Rafael Nadal beats Novak Djokovic in straight sets to reach Madrid final
I made a lot of unforced errors, especially in the first set, said Djokovic, "I felt like I was playing well throughout the week". And this 50th meeting was, of course, to be played both on clay and in front of an adoring Spanish Caja Magica.
Here are the worldwide highlights so far: China $80.5M; United Kingdom $42.5M; Russian Federation $23.1M; Germany $23.0M; Australia $20.1M; France $20.1M; Korea $18.6M; Brazil $17.8M; Mexico $17.1M; Spain $8.5M; Italy $7.4M; and Indonesia $7.2M. The first film met a similar fate, dropping 67.4% in its second Friday from $37.8 million to $12.3 million. Regardless, Marvel's involvement will definitely play a big factor in making the "Spider-Man" films as authentic to the source material as possible, something that Bautista is eagerly rooting for. Yes, I know: In 21st-century America, your family is the family you assemble, not the family you were born into; but since Quill spent years thinking Yondu might eat him, he should probably not be as upset as he is when Yondu buys it at the end of the picture. Vol. 2 has a plethora of great jokes, but it fails to reach the comedic heights of the original. I haven't even gotten to the promising addition of Sylvester Stallone to this brilliant corner of the star-filled Marvel Universe. Hunnam's most notable other outing as a movie star, 2013's Pacific Rim, was a disappointment domestically but managed to make enough money to at least recoup its budget in overseas markets.
Whether it's the hardships that Gamora and Nebula faced with their self-proclaimed father, Thanos, or the feeling of abandonment felt by Star-Lord, who never knew who his father was, the issues are blended into the story in a way where audiences will not feel uncomfortable with the movie.
If you're not a "Guardians" fan, I doubt I can convince you to see "Vol. 2".
Somalia, Qatar discuss ties on sidelines of United Kingdom meet
The Somali president called on the worldwide community to assist his country in countering terrorism, corruption and poverty. Theresa May has met with African leaders as she prepared to shore up the UK's commitment to improving stability in Somalia .
Credit must be given to some of the best visual effects yet to be seen in a Marvel film, or perhaps blockbuster cinema as a whole. Again, I love Chris, but he ain't who they want us to believe he is. Yes, massive blockbuster superhero movies are crowding the multiplex, causing some of the smaller indies to skip theaters or not even get made in the first place. The film does not suffer from the common problem of having too little story to offer; rather, the film has so much to communicate, the plot feels extremely dense. They are quickly diverted to Ego's planet, where Quill finds out more about his celestial origins.
Yondu and Rocket both share some pretty emotional moments that develop their characters and teach us more about them.
Mourinho: Romero will start Europa League final
European football's governing body only overturns decisions made by the referee in cases of mistaken identity. Especially because he played two Europa League matches, so if we win, he wins the trophy.
