Watch 200th ISS spacewalk on Friday

13 May 2017

Today's trek into space marks the 200th spacewalk at the International Space Station.

NASA discovered a water leak Friday at the International Space Station, delaying the start of the milestone 200th spacewalk at the global space lab. She already holds the USA record for most spacewalks by a female astronaut.

But it was a new experience for Fischer.

"Biggest slice of awesome pie I've ever seen", Fischer said.

President Trump Is Confident That Israel And Palestine Will Find Peace
In his comments, Abbas praised Trump for his "leadership", "courageous stewardship", "wisdom" and " great negotiating ability ". Abbas who has been in office since 2005 and was part of two failed U.S. attempts to negotiate peace under George W.

"Oh my gosh, this is lovely", Fischer said as he stepped out into space for the first time, saying his view is like "an enormous fondu pot bubbling over with piping hot awesome-sauce".

But it wasn't awesome from the beginning.

Running more than an hour behind schedule, U.S. EVA-42 began at 9:08 a.m. EDT (GMT-4).

Mission control radioed the astronauts that Friday's spacewalk will be limited to run around four hours, not the six-and-a-half hour duration originally planned, due to the problem. The astronauts spent 4 hours and 13 minutes on the spacewalk, and managed to blast through much more work than expected. The two were able to complete the task of removing a faulty electricity and data box that aides experiments on the exterior of ISS.

Russia Must Rein in Assad, Iran-Backed Forces in Syria
And, get this, the Russian media were reportedly allowed inside the meeting for photos, while US media were not. Lavrov did speak during brief photo op with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday morning.

During the spacewalk, NASA's Peggy Whitson and Jack Fischer on Friday "successfully replaced a large avionics box that supplies electricity and data connections to the science experiments", the USA agency said in a statement.

Whitson and Fischer will also "install a connector that will route data to the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer and help the crew determine the most efficient way to conduct future maintenance on cosmic ray detector", NASA said.

NASA said on Friday it would revamp plans for a spacewalk outside the International Space Station after a cable that supplies power, oxygen, cooling water and communications to one of the astronaut's spacesuits started to leak. This adapter will be home to a new global docking port.

The firs spacewalk in support of ISS assembly and maintenance was December 7, 1998 during a mission by the crew of the space shuttle Endeavour. The two remaining minor tasks, installing a high-definition camera and pair of wireless antennas, will be rescheduled for a later spacewalk. This was her ninth.

NATO's secretary general is due to meet Theresa May at Downing Street on Wednesday where they are expected to discuss the subject. Allied leaders will consider their own contributions so that Afghan security forces have sufficient support, the official said.

While the view from above the planet is probably pretty awesome, it wasn't exactly smooth sailing for Fischer and Whitson.
