Global campaign to correct Pakistani & Chinese maps: Kashmir, Tibet, Junagarh, Siachin, Sir Creek and Asian Ocean

China has consistantly shown maps of “India” without Kashmir. This was recently highlighted by a Times of India article. It is time that Pakistanis launched an internal campaign to burn the bad maps displayed by Pakistani TV and print media. Every Pakistan should write to the news anchors to correct the maps.

We wrote to Hamid Mir and faxed hundreds of pages to major Pakistani media outlets to correct the maps. Mr. Mir corrected the map, but Geo News often shows incorrect maps of Pakistan. Letters should also be written to US media soruces whenever you see bad Pakistani maps.

CORRECTING PAKISTANI MAPS (Kashmir, Junagarh, Manvadar, Siachin, Sir Creek are part of Pakistan.). Neither time, nor tide, nor poliitcs, nor treachery, nor prgamatism can steal an inch of Pakistani territory.

When you see a wrong Pakistani map in internet, we hope you can write to their webmaster or the person in charge, tell them that their map is wrong. You can also tell them why their map is wrong. They can ignore one person’s suggestion, they can ignore 10 people’s suggestion, but they have to take it into consideration when thousands and thousands of us ask them to change.

We can also form organizations and build networks with Chinese and other friendly countries to organize this campaign and continue this campaign until it succeeds.

The Koreans changed the name of “Sea of Japan” to “Sea of Japan (East Korea Sea)” on most maps published these days. This is your campaign to correct world maps that incorrectly show Pakistani territory as Indian:

Perspective is important. Pakistani maps should not show all of India. Pakistani maps should always cut off India.

The perspective of the map should be Central Asia and West of Pakistan.

Watch out for at incorrect points on bad maps

1) Occupied Kashmir should not be part of India. Shown here is in black.

Many Kashmiris live in occupied territory and has to be shown as such.

Occupied Kashmir should always be shown as Occupied territory, disputed territory.

Ladakh and Kashmir are Muslim majority areas of Jammu and Kashmir. This fact should be highlighted. Ladakh no longer has a Buddhist majority. Ladakh has a Muslim majority.

Even this apprently correct map has an error. Gilgit, Hunza and Skardu should be shown as part of Pakistan

This is the map of Azad Kashmir: It should be shown as part of Pakistan.

Make sure that “Azad Kashmir” (thin strip of land East of Islamabad that was liberated in 1947) is not shown as part of Occupied Kashmir or part of India or part of Northern Areas.

There are Pakistani maps. They show Kashmir as part of Pakistan or as disputed territory.

2) Northern Areas were never part of Kashmir and are Pakistani territory. They were amalgamated into Pakistan by President Zia-ul-Haq.

3) Siachin should be shown as part of Pakistan. Pakistani position shown here red. Pakistani territory is all the way up to the Chinese border. Indian position is that Soltero range should be the LOC (shown as a white line). Indian position cuts off access to China in this part of Kashmir.

4) Sir Creek should be shown as part of India (Pakistani position is that Pakistan owns the entire creek). Green Line shows Pakistani position–Eastern bank of the creek. Indian position is middle of stream.

5) Junagarh and Manvadar should be always be shown as part of Pakistan (as in inset). Junagarh and Manvadar signed the article of Accession to Pakistan.

Official Pakistani maps still show Junagarh as part of Pakistani territory as an inset.

Commercial magazines and newspapers simply copy Western or Indian maps. Junagarh and Manvadar are in Gujrat.

Make sure that Chinese “Aksai Chin” is not shown as Indian territory. Aksai Chin was solved as a border dispute between China and Paksitan and ceded to China.

g) Charity begins at home. Make sure that Pakistani media outlets do not show bad Pakistani maps. Geo and ARY and Herald are the worst culprits who simply reproduce Indian maps.

This a wrong map. It should never be accepted or reproduced.

h)Support China: The Northeastern state that India calls “Aranchul Pradesh” should be shown as part of China not India (shown in green). China is purple. India is light blue.

Indian maps that should be shown. These maps should be used by Pakistani news sites and blogs.

This map of India shows the 89 insurgencies raging today. The insurgents control more than 40% of the territory.

The Pakistan map that should be shown

i) Use “Asian Ocean” instead of ” ‘Indian’ Ocean”

This is the correct map of China. Tibet cannot be shown as part of “India”, even it India calls it Arunchal Pradesh

India China border dispute. Bharat occupies the territory of Zang Nan (South Tibet) which it calls Arunchal Pradesh. In an era of increased tension, Chinese forces have built a robust network of roads and rails to the border and Bharat has placed SU planes Tezpur to 3200 km or 8500 km with fuel tanks. China took the area in 1962 but gave it back to Bharat. Bharat did not withdraw from the territory and still occupies Chinese territory. For years, Indian strategic elites have argued that Tibet is a card that India must play to offset Chinese irredentism. Much to their chagrin, Indian policymakers in government have avoided reopening the folder on Tibet's status, inviting a chorus of dissenting voices chiding them for "spinelessness".
